OUR HISTORY
Founded in 1910 in undivided India, Munjral Brothers began as a wine, spirits, and beer distribution business in the erstwhile Punjab State.
After the Partition of India in 1947, the family exited territories that became part of Pakistan and consolidated operations across Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, building a resilient, India-focused enterprise.
In the 1950s, Munjral Brothers entered alcoholic beverage imports under India’s highly restricted license quota system, at a time when only a handful of companies nationwide were permitted to import. This early exposure shaped the company’s long-standing engagement with international producers.
Following a family restructuring in the 1970s, the Delhi business continued independently, with a Punjab office established in 1976. When imports were banned in 1977, the company strengthened its domestic distribution capabilities, maintaining continuity through a challenging regulatory period.
With the reopening of imports under WTO commitments in 2001, Munjral Brothers re-engaged global partners. The Mumbai office, established in 2000, expanded western India operations, including distribution of Indian-made Carlsberg beer and select imported brands.
Today, Munjral Brothers remains a family-owned company, shaped by over a century of continuity, adaptability, and a long-term approach to building brands in India.
